Avapo's auction to help doctors and volunteers
by Fabio Marzari

The excellence of the city showcased in the Avapo auction on 3 December: iconic objects and places to enjoy a simply unique experience in the world.

Christie’s will hold the ninth edition of their charity auction in favour of Avapo Venezia at the Banca Intesa offices in Campo Manin on December 3, 11am. The Deputy Chairman of Christie’s Italia, Bianca Arrivabene Valenti Gonzaga, spoke of “Venetian resistance against pain”. The goal of the charity event is to collect funds for volunteer work for the benefit of cancer patients and their families, providing support, respect, and dignity in moments of need, 365 days a year. This is made possible thanks to the many volunteers and the physicians, psychologists, and nurses of Avapo Venezia that work both in hospital and in home care.

Participants will be able to bid on a precious Radiomir Black Seal Logo watch, inspired by the first model released for the Italian Navy by Officine Panerai in 1936, on purses by Gucci, Miu Miu, and Saint-Laurent, a drawing by Fabrizio Plessi, and dinners in some of the most iconic restaurants in Venice. More: a suggestive sunset rowing class for four, a bicycle tour at the Ca’ Roman nature sanctuary with an expert ornithologist, a visit to Atelier Nicolao for a costume fitting and a photoshoot, art by the students of the local Fine Arts Academy, and a concert by the soloists of the Venice Conservatory for an audience of forty. Avapo Venezia president Teresa Baldi Guarinoni gives thanks “to all donors in equal measure, with a special mention to the young artists at the Fine Arts Academy, the IUAV University, and the Conservatory who donated their art and creativity to Avapo Venezia.”
