Cyprus explores the ancient art of drystone construction, focusing on the village of Salamiou as a model of sustainable architectural heritage. Salamiou serves as a case study of a terraced settlement between two rivers, showcasing agricultural practices that span nearly 10,000 years across the Fertile Crescent. The exhibition brings together local artisans, architects, stonemasons, curators, and the public in a participatory process of reinterpreting the significance of these practices. It delves into the interconnections between ecology, cultural heritage, and communal land stewardship, highlighting how these ancient constructions represent a sustainable alternative to modern systems of resource extraction.
