Closed since 2011 due to damage caused by Hurricane Ivan, the National Library of Grenada remains a tangible absence at the heart of the capital. The Pavilion envisions the possible future of the building overlooking St. George’s harbor through an installation that weaves together memory, architecture, and collective participation, unfolding through two sections: Meta-project and Symbol. The Meta-project envisions a new, sustainable library deeply rooted in the local context and engaged in dialogue with the community. The Symbol reflects on the value of architecture as a tool to preserve cultural identity and keep collective heritage alive. Models, research, and archival materials complete the narrative, offering a critical perspective on the fundamental role that libraries play within the social framework.
