The Mediterranean Sea shapes the Italian coasts, a heritage of extraordinary variety, effectively defining the country’s borders. TERRÆ AQUÆ analyzes through a sociological, political, strategic, anthropological, artistic, cultural, infrastructural, and natural approach – represented broadly by a collective call for visions and projects the sea, ports, and coasts as an integrated system of architecture, infrastructure, and landscape. The Italian Pavilion thus becomes a living laboratory of ideas, a multidisciplinary and multimodal polyphonic space, where each individual or group project proposes a rethinking of the relationship between land and water, redefining the fundamental role of the sea as a crucial resource, not only for economic and security purposes, but also for the future of the country.
