On the 30th anniversary of its construction, the Korean Pavilion highlights the overlooked aspects of the building’s design and history. The project aims to reevaluate the space by emphasizing its sustainability and broader significance, extending the narrative beyond the Pavilion itself and connecting it to the wider context of the Giardini, the Venice Biennale, and the city of Venice. The exhibition examines the full lifespan of the Pavilion, considering not just its completion but also its evolution over time, including its past, present, and future, focusing on the idea that a building’s legacy endures beyond its physical existence, even after demolition.
