The Slovenian project highlights the value of skilled workers as repositories of the technical knowledge essential to architectural realization. A series of totems, built on a construction site in Ljubljana through collaboration between architects and workers, stands as a manifesto of a “knowledge of making” that restores dignity to artisanal skills, too often overlooked in the rhetoric of digitalization. At once concrete and symbolic, the totems reaffirm the central role of those who translate design into material form, emphasizing the need for a shared, practical, and critical body of knowledge.
