Taeko leads a tranquil life – she is happily married with Jiro and she has a child and a good job. Her quasi-idyllic routine is torn apart when Park, Taeoko’s child biological father, shows up. Park is an unstable, violent person, but Taeko won’t turn her back on him and decides to help him, which will cause further strain on her life and her family’s.
Born in Tokyo in 1980, director and screenwriter Kôji Fukada has been recognized at the Cannes Film Festival in 2016 in the Un Certain Regard section for his Fuchi ni tatsu. He also participated at the Locarno Film Festival with A Girl Missing in 2019. The director is part of theatre company Seinendan, whose actors he often casts in his films.
