Created in 2017 to celebrate and promote the “art of fire,” The Venice Glass Week is the international festival that Venice dedicates to the art of glassmaking, an artistic and economic activity for which the lagoon city has been renowned worldwide for over a thousand years. During the week of September 14 to 22, visitors will have the opportunity to visit exhibitions, studios, workshops, and furnaces, and participate in workshops, shows, activities for children and families, and guided tours.
A series of meetings and conferences will address the most pressing issues related to the production and sustainability of this outstanding sector of Made in Italy, which has been struggling for some time. The undisputed protagonist is artistic glass in its various and fascinating forms—an art balanced between past and future, tradition and contemporary trends.
Particularly noteworthy at Palazzo Loredan are The Venice Glass Week HUB on the main floor and The Venice Glass Week HUB Under35, two exhibitions offering an intriguing overview of the artistic explorations related to this captivating material.
