A pioneer of the interaction between art, science and technology, Oriental philosophy and female mythology, over the past six decades Liliane Lijn has produced an extraordinarily diverse body of work, many of which are now in prestigious collections, including the Tate, the British Museum, the V&A in London and the FNAC in Paris. She was the first woman to work with kinetic text, exploring both light and text as early as 1962, as well as being the first female artist to exhibit a work that incorporated an electric motor. His practice ranges between the most diverse mediums: from kinetic sculpture to film, passing through text, performance and collage, with which he returns his personal vision of the world in “terms of light and energy”.
