To realize her work Özlem Altın probes into an impressive photographic archive accumulated over many years, combining images found and cropped around with pictures taken by herself. Often Altın’s works and installations focus on the body: an unstructured, depersonalized, interchangeable body, deprived of its identity. Images become objects create a spatial relationship with the installation, the body and the proportions of the observer. Finding connections between her layers of photomontage and ink, the artist pushes viewers to create narratives by recognizing what’s happening between the images.
