FRANZ SCHUBERT AMMIRATORE DI BEETHOVEN

Early Music Seminars
Friday

alle 18:00

On the occasion of the new edition of the Early Music Seminars Egida Sartori and Laura Alvini of the Giorgio Cini Foundation, directed by Pedro Memelsdorff, entitled “Franz Schubert Admirer of Beethoven. Trios, op. 99 and op. 100′, will take place a concert in the Sala degli Arazzi.

Conducting the concert will be Andreas Staier – one of the greatest living historical keyboardists, with a vast repertoire ranging from the late Renaissance to Romanticism – and Amandine Beyer – one of the most innovative and virtuosic historical violinists of recent generations, author of important solo and orchestral recordings under her own name.
The final recital-concert will be performed by a group of scholarship holders, selected through an international competition, divided into two trios, each consisting of a fortepianist, a cellist and a violinist, and a solo fortepianist.
Musicians: Basel Piano Trio with Leo Appel (violin), Pau Fernandez Benlloch (fortepiano), Blai Bosser Toca (cello) and Philos Trio with Hyngun Cho (cello), Jean-Christophe Dijoux (fortepiano), Liv Heym (violin), Arash Rokni (fortepiano).

The concert concludes the seminar Franz Schubert admired Beethoven. Trios, Opus 99 and Opus 100, curated by Professors Andreas Staier and Armandine Beyer. The subject of the study days is a comparison of Schubert’s two trios for fortepiano, violin and cello, Op. 99 and Op. 100 – composed between 1827 and 1828, during a period when the maestro was deeply moved by Beethoven’s death and aware of his fragile health – and Beethoven’s trios for piano and strings Op. 70 and Op. 97.
The occasion will thus allow participants to appreciate the similarities and differences between these two great composers.

Admission free while places last.
