Under the heading “illustrious pianists” we find the French Michel Dalberto, the only living musician to have recorded all of Schubert’s piano works. Born in Paris in 1955 into a French Dauphiné family of Piedmontese origins, Michel Dalberto established himself on the international music scene by winning First Prize in the 1975 Clara Haskil, Mozart in Salzburg competitions and at the Leeds competition in 1978. A pupil of the great maestro Vlado Perlemuter at the Paris Conservatory, the artist is the only living pianist to have recorded all of Schubert’s pianist works, of which he is one of the most appreciated interpreters, as well as of Mozart’s works, of which he performed all piano concerts.
