OPERA, NEUTRO PLURALE

“Opera, neutro plurale” by Emilio Sala (edizioni il Saggiatore) will be presented at the Fenice in a free-entrance meeting involving not only the author but also the former Superintendent and Artistic Director Fortunato Ortombina, the publisher Luca Formenton and the music critic Stefano Nardelli. A book that proposes opera in a new light thanks to the very form of the volume, conceived, as the subtitle states, as a “Glossary for opera lovers of the 21st century”.
Arranged alphabetically, the categories, characters, figures, common and uncommon places of that musical spectacle we call ‘opera’ are brought together in a book that does its utmost not to sound like an encyclopaedia.
