(2022, France, 104')
Inspired by the director’s real life, the film tells the story of Rachel, a teacher who loves life, her students, her friends, her guitar classes. When she falls in love with Ali, she soon grows close to Ali’s daughter Leila, aged four. Rachel cares for Leila like a mother would… but she is not her mother. Rachel soon realizes she wants a family of her own, though the passage of time creeps into her thoughts and makes her question her choices and how likely she will be to see her wishes come true.
Parisian director, screenwriter, and actress Rebecca Zlotowski was in Venice in 2016, out of competition with Planetarium. In 2017, she was in the Orizzonti jury.
