A series of new works in glass by the world-renown activist and artist create a contemporary dialogue with the Palladian Church of San Giorgio.

Among these new site-specific works we find The Human Comedy, a chandelier of colossal dimensions that is the result of a three-year collaboration between the famous Chinese artist and Berengo Studio’s master craftsmen. A dramatic cascade of bones, skulls, and organs becomes a striking monument to the lives lost over the course of the pandemic through which Ai Weiwei sends a clear message about the mutability of life while encouraging us to think of the future.

Glass, a special material and a part of our daily life, bears witness to joy, anxiety and worry in our reality. In its presence we reflect upon the relationships between life and death, and between tradition and reality.
