Today, Paul Schrader (a Festival’s habitué since his 1997 participation with Affliction) will be awarded the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement. On the same side of history is Ismaël, a young man who fights for justice after the wrongful death of his brother had been covered up by officials in the French Army in For My Country (Orizzonti) by Algerian director Rachid Hami.
