From January 30 to May 3, the eighth edition of Jazz&, promoted by Veneto Jazz, offers an exciting journey into contemporary jazz with leading protagonists of the national and international scene.
Jazz& returns to Venice with ten unmissable events in the Sale Apollinee, Auditorium Lo Squero, Fondaco dei Tedeschi and Teatrino di Palazzo Grassi. From 30 January to 3 May, the eighth edition, promoted by Veneto Jazz, offers an exciting journey into contemporary jazz with leading protagonists of the national and international scene. Artistic director Giuseppe Mormile: “If the symbolic face of this edition is Brazilian pianist Amaro Freitas, epic and dazzling in his ability to fuse different genres, the programme also sees two Italian stars shine: pianist Francesca Tandoi and singer Simona Molinari, both in a moment of extraordinary artistic evolution. On the international front, the calendar hosts pianists Nitai Hershkovits, in a fascinating solo recital, and Kevin Hays, accompanied by an outstanding trio. Experimentation finds space in the innovative Solar Pulsers project, based on the analogue Buchla synthesiser, while Mediterranean atmospheres come to life through the percussion of Puglia’s Rachele Andrioli, the ancient tango of Massimo Tagliata, and the Balkan sounds of Balkalà.
